The show dramatizes the facades, the unrest and challenges they face in order to safeguard their relationships in this family. It traces the journey of these four women, which is full of trials & tribulations, lies, deceit & betrayal. They want to achieve their ultimate aim of restoring their lost faith and values back into their family, while trying never to cross their Maryaada. But what when they will have to break their silence for the sake of same the Maryaada?

Navya symbolises the young, new generation of India. A 19-year old college goer, Navya is the average girl-next-door, who is confused about her life. She is extremely identifiable with the youth of India. Navya naturally balances modernity & traditionalism in her day-to-day life without even consciously thinking about it. Like most youngsters today, Navya has middle class parents, who constantly struggle between being parents and friends to their children.

Her friends enjoy better freedom at home - one of them also has a boyfriend. Navyasecretly wishes for the same - someone who would do mushy things for her - yet she is happy in her own world. As luck would have it, Navya falls in love with Anant, a boy hailing from a traditional and conservative family. Over time, the story beautifully captures Navya andAnant’s journey of love and their trials and tribulations in trying to stay uniquely Indian and yet moving ahead with the times.

Unlike KokilabenHetal is a simple woman who tries to keep the family together. Kokila has raised her son Aham to only listen to her commands. Ahamis a workaholic and will let nothing come in his way to success.
Kokilaben's husband, Parag, is the reason Kokilaben has been so strict with Aham'supbringing. She doesn't want Aham to turn into a couch potato like his father. Koki also feels that if her husband would have done well, she would have got more importance in the family. Hetal's son Jigar, on the other hand, is sweet and simple like his mother and father,ChiragJigar is not as ambitious as Aham and works under AhamBaa is Hetal and Kokila'smother-in-law and everyone loves and respects her. Kokila, however, never listens to her and marches to the beat of her own drums.
